Gate City-based Rent or Sale Properties is getting ready to launch a Web-based service designed to show for-sale and rental property listings for residential or commercial use. Though the company is just a startup and mostly Web-based, organizers say that on its Aug. 31 launch it will have 106 brick-and-mortar locations in 40 states across the country, boasting "over a couple hundred" employees or associates. Both John Fogleman, the company's vice president of marketing and IT, and Perry Johnson, a spokeswoman, declined to answer certain questions about the company's financing and employee structure, but they said that more information on the company would be released as the company gets up and going. |

High Point- Rent or Sale Properties opened a new location Monday at 1007 E. Lexington Ave. The company is a virtual real-estate advertising website with a walk-in location that allows customers to list rental or sale sites for $30 per month. "We're all about customer service," said Lynn Cunningham, who owns the High Point Rent or Sale office with her husband, Scott. "In the voice-mail age, the customer service has gotten lost." Cunningham said she and founder of Rent or Sale Properties, Kim Reittinger, have been working together to launch the business for nine years. The corporate headquarters are in Greensboro, and the company has opened 110 locations across the United States. While the main service is the web listing for real-estate agents or individuals looking to buy or sell a house, the service locations provide yard signs, copying services, classified listings photography and video services and promotional items. "We wanted the Customer Service Location to help people who come through the door," Lynn Cunningham said. In addition to real estate, the website offers more than 50 services including business service listings, messaging services and listings in 10 different languages. "Our goal is to be the first worldwide real estate advertising service," said Scott Cunningham. "We're the business of the 21st century because everything's moving to the internet," Lynn Cunningham said. The Cunninghams have 20 years of mortgage experience each, working with real-estate agents and builders in the area. The High Point residents run Independence Mortgage out of the same office that will serve as the High Point Rent or Sale Properties site.
